Helps and Hurts

Watch your mind and notice how you are sorting out good and bad, or helps and hurts. Try this: each day consider things that have been helpful to you and things that have hurt you, or set you back. Write them down. Then watch each day what shows up. In this way you are being mindful of what is in the mind and knowing this can help to calm the frustration that leads to anxiety and depression. As you notice what is hurting and what is helping, you can begin to incorporate more positive and productive methods that will help you succeed. It is hard work, but the alternative is to continue to live by being impulsive and reactive to things, rather than being PROACTIVE and focused on corrective action to make things better for you. So take a little time today and watch what is going on in the mind and what is driving you. YOU can make changes that will make your life better and help you to cope with situations that may otherwise be debilitating. Here are some links to how most of us usually think: ANTS How people become negative Intrusive Thoughts Feeling Better Gratitude Feeling better. And one of MY favorites: Steve Jobs. Remember the mind is a powerful tool and if you don't use it, IT will use you and that will not be helpful to you. It is work, but the alternative is staying in the negative.
